S.A.I.S.D & SAFETY at Carroll Academy
 
The mission statement of the school district is a good education and a safe school enviornment.  However, an old abandoned school bus and several trucks sat idle for years and that led to homeless individuals living on the bus.  Ken's news came out and aired the story twice.  The reporter(Karen Grace) went on to report a student on his bike going home was a curious on looker.

Stay Focus Please.
 
May 7, 2008 at Carroll Academy there was a "mommy and me" day.  The letter went out a week before the event  and to the first 40 mommies a gift bag would be given. The mommies showed up some from work.  They were handed their gift bag once they signed in. 
I have asked parents to come and join me in an effort to save Carroll. Only a faithful few have shown concern. We are allowing the board to close Carroll. Our children's education should be "priceless".
 
I gave my gift bag to my niece. She smiled at the contents within the gift bag.  Yes, I showed up because I wanted to see how many would come for the gift bag versus that of saving their school. I was not dissapointed.
 
Our parents, elected officials and our school board have let our children down.  Our parents because they began a good fight in the beginning and gave up.  Our elected officials who showed up and then have continued to sit down.  Our school board because in not trying to fix the problem they are creating another.
 
 
OOOPS THEY DID IT AGAIN!
 
The S.A.I.S.D. has sent the principal of Carroll Academy to MLK in hopes of getting the children to follow her as stated before.  Now, that the children and some teachers desire to go with our principal we have a new word to tell you about parents and children, "attrition". Duron has said," that the children need to have sports". So, now that they have taken the (1). the school, (2). the principal, (3). gotten the children to go to MLK. The very thing that they used to get the children to go MLK (sports) now has a possiblity of not being provided or phased out slowly. How much more can the board inflict on our children in less than four months?
 
In away this would be considered the "old bait and switch" routine. I attend the school board meetings so that I will never be misinformed again.  So, any information on the website comes from the "horse's mouth" (board) so not to cause anyone harm.

On, April 28, Julian Trevino the President of the S.A.I.S.D. resigned to take an administration job with a consulting firm in Houston.  He has done his damage control and leaves behind the mess of future school closing to the remaining  school board members. 

 

HERE ARE THE FACTS PEOPLE:JUST THE FACTS.

 

 Our former President Trevino employs Carlos Villarreal(trustee) and his wife at El Mirador. "CAN YOU SAY CONFLICT OF INTEREST"!  How about the fact that one board member (who still has remain nameless) has continued to keep Tynan opened.  A memorandum from Helen Ballew, Bonham parent dated March 4, 2007 outlined key points about the school from it's electives, layout,neighborhood accessibilty,academic performance.  One final question Helen asked, " Why weren't Austin Academy(36), Gates(38), and King Academy (39) included on the lowest 10% list when their total scores are lower than Bonham's (44)?  "Can YOU SAY GRANDPARENT ON THE SCHOOL BOARD!

 

In all the investigation I have done going through the folders and stacks of papers Carroll's name was never on any list for closure.  Do you hear me parents any list to be closed.  Don't ask why any more?  Get upset that the board you elected lied. The school bonds you voted for have been misappropriated to new schools and the remodeled schools are being closed and sold.  As a taxpayer will you or I receive any type of  REBATE since our tax dollars have been wasted?

Petition walk..I along with my niece and nephew received good responses when we ask people to sign our petition  to save Carroll.  Even those that say, " I thought it  was a done deal", I tell them four votes can undo the closing of Carroll.  It will take the parents to show they are a force to be reckon with.  I have even explained to them just like the Verizon commercial with the peple behind him..that is what Carroll needs.  CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?
