About Us

Our fight is about the recent closures of six schools in the S.A.I.S.D. that will cause children to be bused.  "Parents defending our children's education", is what the parents of Horace Mann, Travis and Carroll Academy are doing.  We must continue what the district has said is done.  That we should accept their decision as the betterment for the children.  The Board continues to lie about so many issues that they presented to the public and parents in the open meetings to why the closures were and are necessary.

So, I ask you how does closing a school that has over four hundred and twenty students close down to accomidate sixty girls .   That is what Mann is facing.  How does the Board reason with itself that closing Travis that has three hundred and twenty close.  To open a school for "students who are being held back because they excel over their fellow classmates", a statement made by Mr.Duron, Superintendant at March 24, 2008 meeting.  Finally, Carroll  a school of over three hundred and fifty students being asked to send  their children into an area of registered sex offenders, drugs and prostitution.

MISSION STATEMENT:

Our mission is for every child to be safe.  That education should not come at a cost that would jeopardize the safety of any child.  We are fighting for education equally.

But how can a child become productive if they first must be asked to come into an enviornment that is facing destruction on a daily basis.  Carroll's parents are being faced with this decision.

Contact your local state representatives as well as counsel members.  If we do not fight today..there may be nothing to fight for tomorrow.

If, we are spending billions overseas to save Iraq's rights.  Then, why can't we spend some monies here for our children's future.

If we are waiting on the world to change it is our  responsiblity to be apart of it.
